Protection clothes

Patients should cover their whole body with clothes to protect themselves from UV light. Long sleeve shirts, long pants, gloves, socks and closed shoes. Clothes should be dark and thick. The most recommended tissues are jeans, polyesters and rayon. There are special tissues that block UV light.

Head, face and eyes should be extremely and carefully protected. Wide-brimmed hats are available, manufactured with UV blocking tissues, and should wear a special plastic cover for the face. The hat should cover also the back of the head and neck.

Finally, patients should use sunglasses with filter for UV-A and UV-B irradiation and lateral protection.
