Photo-protective sunscreens

Patients with XP should use photo-protective creams daily with at least 30 SPF index of protection to UV-A and UV-B irradiation. It must be applied during all day in all the parts of the body not covered by clothes every 2-3 hours.

As patients with XP are not exposed to sun, they are in risk of low levels of vitamin D. Deficit of vitamin D should be otherwise monitored to avoid osteopenia and bones fractures.
