2.3. Early intervention
Although it is a mainly cutaneal disease it has affectation on other levels, and so early care (physiotherapy, speech therapy, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, psychology, etc.) is an essential tool. In order to promote the cerebral plasticity, independently of the resources available, it is fundamental to offer an environment rich in diverse positive stimuli, such as interactions with different people, play, physical exercise, stories, and songs, while minimizing negative stimuli like stress and anxiety. The objective of early care is to promote the development of the child as much as possible, enhancing their well-being, autonomy, and full inclusion in family, educational, and social settings. Access to these resources varies by Autonomous Community, and typically, referrals to local services are made through a primary care professional.
