1.5. Non-specific or mainstream APPs

Below we present some APPs that having not been designed with the group of blind or visually impaired people in mind can still be useful in the daily lives of these people.

  • Audible: This APP makes thousands of book titles available, anything from classics to the latest best sellers. Ideal for hard-core readers who cannot sleep the night before their favorite book is published.
  • Green Kitchen: APP with vegetarian recipes explained step by step.
  • Poketyoga: interesting APP if you like to practice yoga at home. In the videos the asanas are explained and, apart from that, it is accompanied by a glossary where each posture is described in more detail.

These examples are applications that have been developed considering Apple's accessibility guidelines, and the company is dedicating more and more effort into getting developers to take them into account. In fact, the goal is for most apps to be inclusive; that is, that they can be used by all people, regardless of their characteristics.
