5. Obesity
From puberty or even a bit earlier and into adulthood, patients with SK have a higher risk of developing obesity compared to others.
More than half of individuals with SK develop this obesity, which can exacerbate other health issues, such as recurrent patellar dislocation. Therefore, it is essential to maintain a balanced diet, engage in physical activity, and seek evaluation from an endocrinologist, especially in cases where obesity is increasing or difficult to manage.
