The RareHacks Hackathon event brought toghether computer scientists, data scientists and clinicians to apply data science tools, including machine learning and natural language processing algorithms, to a real biomedicine case that will contribute to help families suffering from rare diseases.

The challenge proposed in RareHacks was building a smart chat bot capable of providing answers to rare diseases patients’ relatives. To fulfill this goal, teams were composed of multidisciplinary profiles of six individuals.

The event took place in Barcelona, between the 5th and the 7th of July.
